Fairview Wine is looking to hire a responsible, reliable applicant for the part-time role of being our Fairview Wine Advisor at Willoughby’s Restaurant, located at the Waterfront, Cape Town.

Willoughby’s is one of South Africa’s busiest restaurants, offering some of the finest sushi and wine in the Cape.

Job Purpose:

To promote wine products and sales to the customers of Willoughby & Co by means of Wine tastings.
Duties & Responsibilities:

The successful applicant’s role will involve offering guests Fairview wine tasters as they wait in the queues or while they are seated at the tables.
Introduce the client to all purchase options (with the meal per craft or per bottle at the shop) once the client has tasted all chosen wines.
Prepare the cheese platter to accompany wine tastings. It must be done in a professional and presentable manner.
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
Attend meetings.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills.
Management may from time to time allocate or delegate duties, which may not relate to the normal function of the position.
Qualifications & Skills Required:

Grade 12
Basic wine knowledge essential. The candidate must have an excellent general knowledge of wines and an in-depth knowledge of the wines that he/she must promote. Fairview will provide training but the employee show own initiative and stay abreast of product developments.
Be proficient in both Afrikaans & English

Location:

The position will be based at Willoughby’s Restaurant, Waterfront, Cape Town. The employee must be fit enough to operate during busy times and work within the necessary speed.
