This 1,5 litre superior 1948 KWV port is a collector’s item that was released in limited numbers as a special edition in 1987 in celebration of the three-hundredth anniversary of KWV.

Winner in its class at the 2015 Challenge of the Port Producers Association (CAPPA) and Museum Class Gold Medallist.

‘Amazingly, in the Museum Class comprising ports made from grapes harvested more than 10 years ago and typically long since sold out ex-cellar, the winning wine, a KWV Tawny, is still available for purchase nearly 70 years down the line from the company’s Wine Emporium in Paarl – for R6500 a bottle!

Due to the age of the wine it is sold “as is” for collector purposes as the drinkability cannot be guaranteed.
