Cellar worker Vacancy Paarl

Noble Hill is a winery located 10km outside of Paarl on the slopes of the Simonsberg mountains. We are looking for a cellar worker to execute winemaking objectives at a high standard. We are a small estate winery producing roughly 200 tons of white and red grapes each vintage.

Job responsibilities include:
Cleaning tanks, equipment, pumps, pipes and all items to be used in the winemaking process
Keeping the cellar and store rooms neat and organized
Operating harvest equipment: press filling and emptying, moving grape skins, crush pad operation
Assisting in all winemaking related operations: additions to wines, movement of wines, racking of wines
Assisting on bottling and labeling lines
Assisting with forklift driving
Assisting with deliveries and general tasks
Assisting with manual barrel movements and stacking as required
Varied tasks as instructed by the winemaker

The successful candidate must:
Have a valid driver’s license
Be detail-oriented and take pride in executing instructions carefully and completely
Translate written instructions into action easily
Be willing to assist where needed with all aspects of the business
Have transport to/from work
Be able to operate a forklift
Have a positive, “can do” attitude

Schedule and wage:
The schedule for this position is from 7h30 to 17h15, Monday-Friday. The position starts at R 7,500 per month and the wage will be revised after 6 months. The position is eligible for overtime. There is advancement opportunity to become an assistant winemaker after 2-3 years.
