Our team have been active in the wine industry since 2010 with the unique process of barrel blasting.
All work is completed at your premises and in full view of the winemaker .We require a minimum of 10 barrels per treatment to offset site establishment. Larger orders will be discounted depending on numbers involved.
The process involves the removal of the barrel head, inspection and opening of wood blisters and blasting of the interior of the barrel with solid CO2.
The CO2 returns to gas on impact with the stave and penetrates the wood between 5 – 10 mm in in doing so ‘kill freezes; 90% of all molds, yeast and bacteria.
I many cases we have been able to enhance the toast levels of the barrels as the process often removes a 2-4 mm layer of old wine saturated toast en opens up ‘fresh’ toast for your next fill.
