A well-established Wine and Table Grape Farm in Durbanville is looking to employ a Farm Manager on a full time permanent basis. Relevant qualification and or at least 3 to 5 years pervious farming experience in order to assist and manage its farming and growing operations. Very good salary on offer subject to qualification and or experience and benefits which include, pension, housing, water and electricity etc.

Job Description: The Farm Manager will be responsible for the management of the farms day to day operations, maintenance and harvests. This is a hands on position. Experience: Sound knowledge and working experience required in the following areas: – Viticulture and the wine industry – Livestock: sheep and cattle – Irrigation – Previous working experience in a similar position is compulsory – Tertiary qualification will be highly beneficial Personality Traits & Attributes: We are looking for a man’s man, with a strong personality and who is capable of working in a team.

The ideal candidate must be organized, detailed oriented and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Candidate must be bilingual in both Afrikaans and English. Compensation: They are offering an excellent compensation package which consists out of a an extremely good base salary which is subject to qualification and or experience plus benefits which include, pension, housing, water and electricity etc. About the Farm: The main branch is vineyard and grape cultivation. The grapes are delivered to various wineries all over the country. Small grain such as oats and triticale are also sown. On the farm they also bred with the SA Mutton Merino for meat.

Sheep are slaughtered and approved by accredited abattoirs and then the meat gets processed and provided to the public via their Butchery. Cattle are also part of the livestock branch. Cattle purchased finished and resold. Apart from this they also have an enormous dam which is an asset to the place. The water feeds about 46 hectares of land for irrigation. Fishing competitions, lifesaving training and 2 and 3-camp competitions form part of the annual events on the farm.
