Farm Manager & Viticulture Position

The successful candidate is a solution-driven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, can work accurately under pressure and is self-driven. The candidate is passionate about farming quality grapes, loyal and relishes working in an environment crafted through relationships and family principles (Afrikaans & English).

The successful candidate will be responsible for the full farming function across 100 ha wine grapes which includes the following:

planning and weekly management of all production processes (weeding, trellising, canopy management, irrigation, fertilization, spraying, pruning, harvesting and all new plantings)
farm maintenance management
staff and contractor management
record keeping and compilation of key data and production reports
planning and management of the production budget
management of operating costs
quality management and all other duties relevant to the position.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

A relevant tertiary qualification
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant working experience with vineyards (including in a management capacity)
Knowledge and experience of relevant quality systems (IPW) & other regenerative viticulture techniques
Machine harvesting
Excellent computer literacy (MS Office) and communication skills
Attention to detail, team mentality and positive attitude
Driver’s License

Commencement 1 July 2021 or earlier
