Full Time Winemaker Position – Oak Valley Wines Grabouw

Oak Valley is a diversified farming enterprise situated in the cool-climate Elgin Valley some 70km from Cape Town.

We are looking for a full-time Winemaker to make exceptional quality wines with a focus on Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

The candidate must have sufficient knowledge of viticulture to manage the 32 hectares of vineyard on the property with the help of a vineyard consultant.

The successful candidate will likely be in the age group 30 – 45 years, with a qualification in Oenology and will have at least 10 years practical winemaking experience with volumes over 400 tons.

Winemakers wanting to produce their own label on the side will not be considered.

The ability to positively project the brand to importers, agents and customers is a requirement of the position, as is the capacity to represent the wines in the marketplace. A confident personality is essential in this regard.
