Boekenhoutskloof Winery is seeking to employ a Logistics and Production Coordinator at its Helderberg facility, located between Stellenbosch and Somerset West. Role in the company
The Logistics & Production Coordinator’s role is to be an effective link between our Production and Logistics departments and to assist with the availability of stock to meet demand as and when needed, by processing orders, liaising with distribution partners regarding ready dates, coordinating effective production schedules, managing the procurement of the necessary dry goods as well as supervising the warehousing function, including stock control right through to assisting with successful loading of consignments and the completion of the associated administration. This goes hand in hand with smooth flow of communication to all relevant parties, consisting internally of the Logistics Manager, the Bottling Manager and the wine-making team, and externally of suppliers, customers, distribution- and logistics partners. Reporting to the Chief Winemaker, it will be expected of the Logistics and Production Coordinator to fulfill the role of Logistics Manager and/or Bottling Manager from time to time, if needs be.
Key Performance Areas:
Assisting with export and bottling documentation
Wine Online administration
SAWIS documentation (from bottling to finished goods)
Stock accounting and managing of dry goods
Logistics administration (including assisting with transfer of stock between warehouses, delivery notes and relevant documentation)
Quality and process controls
Areas of Responsibility:
planning of stock needed for production processes
SAWIS submissions & compliance with SAWIS legislation (including pink cards)
all production runs (bottling & labelling)
ordering in of all stock (including dry goods, bottles & screw-caps)
In-Process administration/ensuring our schedule and runs are updated timeously
stock and system coordination and control
scheduling of runs onto EzyWine
submission of documentation to and liaison with our accounts department
managing our dry goods and label controllers
procurement of all stock and dry goods for bottling and labelling processes
stock take on inter alia dry goods
reconcile stock on system with physical stock
liaison with suppliers to monitor and manage buffer stock
arrange bottling with Bottling Manager
health & safety duties in production and warehouse areas
all sample requests
Requirements
Highly organized and structured individual with above average attention to detail
B. Com. or similar tertiary academic qualification
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
An excellent management and leadership track record
Knowledge of EzyWine or similar ERP system, and the Office 365 Application Suite would be an advantage
Thorough understanding of and hands-on experience with export- and logistics administration and SAWIS documentation
Exceptional communication skills
Above average analytical- and computational thinking skills
