Pierneef à La Motte Restaurant in the Franschhoek Valley requires a Pastry Chef who is passionate about the culinary art of pastry and heritage cuisine.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: * developing modern Cape Winelands pastries * preparing pastries and bread for guests * kitchen inventory and stock management * staff management * working closely with the Executive Chef in creating delectable new desserts.
Applications are awaited from persons who comply with the following: * a degree or diploma in culinary arts * 5 years’ experience in a similar position * 1 year’s experience in a supervisory role* strong leadership skills * able to work in a fast-paced environment with challenging deadlines * fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English) * willingness to work on scheduled weekends and public holidays.
