An exceptional wine estate against the slope of Kanonkop – the highest of the hills to the west of Stellenbosch. From the 250 ton cellar and tasting room you have a panoramic view of Table Mountain, False Bay, Cape Point and the Helderberg and the Hottentots-Holland Mountains.

The 39 ha farm has 28 ha under premium quality grapes €“ 67f which is red. The vineyards enjoy the southern ocean breezes of False Bay and the Atlantic to the west €“ making it one of the coolest wine regions in Stellenbosch. The cultivars on the farm include Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Mouvedre, Voignier and Sauvignon Blanc.

The high quality of grapes grown on the estate have enabled the owners to produce world class, premium priced wines €“ which has previously earned them numerous wine awards (Veritas Gold, Decanter World Wine Awards as well as at the International Wine & Spirit Competition) and even a presence on an international airline.

The entire farm is irrigated with water from the Theewaterskloof dam, on-site dams and existing boreholes €“ 10 hectares of 1.75 m row widths and 20 ha of 2.5 meter row widths are irrigated with drippers. The Theewaterskloof allocation is in excess of 70,000m annually. The soil types range from Clovelly at the top of the farm to Fernwood sands at the bottom.
The estate follows the tenets of sustainable, biological farming and natural fertilisers and herbicides are used wherever possible. A €œconstructed wetland€ is used to recycle waste water generated by the winemaking process. Glass and packaging are recycled and cover crop is used to minimise soil erosion and lock nutrients into the soil.
