Tasting Room Ambassador/Assistant

A boutique, upmarket Organic Wine Estate in the heart of The Boland is seeking to appoint an experienced, passionate and friendly Wine Tasting Ambassador. This opportunity will be made available to a driven, talented and professional individual with love and enthusiasm for the wine and hospitality industry. A dynamic and hardworking professional will be exposed to a range of different operations and functions and will be required to be an all-rounder.

Extensive wine knowledge with the ability to host and conduct specialized tastings and tours will be an inherent requirement for this position. The ideal candidate should have experience in a similar guest-facing role with an emphasis on service excellence.

Will include but will not be limited to the following duties and responsibilities

Reception and welcoming of guests – Greeting and hosting
Assisting in all aspects of the Tasting Room Operations as well as deli operations
Extensive knowledge and experience in wine industry with the ability to conduct knowledgeable tastings with passion and professionalism
Experience in similar guest-facing role at high end establishments with attention to detail
Ensure a memorable experience for luxury world class organic wines
Promote the sale of organic, bio-dynamic wines – driving new wine club memberships will be exceptionally imperative and will also include telesales and marketing functions
Setting up of tasting room and clearing, attentive to guest needs
Outstanding communication skills, written and spoken
Cellar tours/vineyard tours
Ability to present, host and usher guests professionally and comfortably
An emphasis on service excellence and customer service
Organization skills and the ability to keep a neat, clean working environment
Able to multitask and work under pressure, all rounded individual
Hosting and communicating with distinguished clientele, wine sales, up-selling
Sales driven, self-motivated, energetic individual
Neat and presentable at all times

You will be required to work a schedule which will include weekends and holidays – this will include occasional irregular hours during peak seasons and/or special events.
