Vineyard Production Manager Vacancy Stellenbosch

Our client situated at the foot of the Simonsberg in the Stellenbosch region, currently has a vacancy for a Vineyard Production Manager.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 with a relevant degree in Agriculture
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position/environment
• Ability to set up budgets
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, WIETA and IPW
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans
• Computer literacy
• A valid Code 14 driver’s licence with PDP

 Responsibilities:

• Prepare annual vineyard plan and budget
• Manage workers, seasonal and labour contractors
• Managing all vineyard activities, e.g. fertilization and pest control programs
• Manage Health and Safety, WIETA and IPW
• Arranging for all pre-season repairs
• Crop load management, harvest coordination and execution in conjunction with relevant role players
• Maintaining proper records of vineyard operations and viticulture monitoring activities
• Supervising maintenance of all vineyards during the off season
