Our client, a well-established and award-winning winery in Fransschoek requires an ambitious and forward-thinking individual with a proven track record in export/local sales and a thorough understanding of the drinks market. This position reports to the Managing Director.
Main duties:
- Strategic planning to achieve international and local sales goals
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to maximize sales and profitability for the company by effective implementation of sales/trading strategies
- Implement sales and distribution plans to meet customer requirements
- Carry out market research and competitor activity reports
- To systematically manage their portfolio to clients and prospect accounts by generating targeted listings
- Effectively manage and control sales and marketing budgets to achieve targeted sales and A & P
- Manage and monitor business objectives, advertising and promotional plans and expenditure, and set up controls to ensure efficient marketing and brand building
- Develop product specific training programs for customers sales teams, for them to maximize their products within their listings
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Sales Management and / or Marketing Management
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, marketing, brand establishment & development in the Wine Industry and FMCG environment
- Familiar with a national and international network of senior wine buyers
- Attending of wine shows and functions
- Business oriented and performance driven
- Financial acumen to finalize the negotiation of prices and/or agreements
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Significant travel both within South Africa and internationally is expected
- Own car required
- Must have ability to work flexibly including weekends and public holidays
