Winemaker

The successful candidate will be based at the Flagstone Winery near Somerset West and is an enthusiastic, competitive person with good work ethic, leadership and communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines and is a team player. A Matric certificate and a relevant tertiary qualification in winemaking, (preferably a B.Sc Viticulture and Oenology), five years’ experience in the South African wine industry and thorough computer literacy are prerequisites for this position.

The Winemaker will be responsible for: • Supporting the procurement team in procuring wine and giving inputs with regard to demand on the products that are managed • Preparing blends for Fair Trade products • Managing the cost of each blend, the wine style and quality • Ensuring wines are prepared and loaded on time for bottling or bulk export • Quality control during the blending and loading/bottling process.
